Footymate
Delete your Footymate club
Footymate is Simfooty's online mode. Your Footymate club lives on our server. Your Simfooty career is different: it lives only on your phone, and deleting your club never touches it.
In the app
Open Simfooty, go to Footymate, then Settings, tap Delete my club, then hold Delete my club in the box that opens until its ring fills. Your club is deleted from our server straight away.
Without the app (a lost or broken phone)
Email support@simfooty.com with the subject Delete my Footymate club and your spare key. That's the twelve letters and numbers the game showed you, like FM7K-Q2RD-9XHP. We delete the club within 7 days and reply to say it's done.
Anyone who has your spare key can delete your club or bring it back on another phone, so keep it to yourself. We use it only to find and delete your club. We keep your email only as long as we need to answer it.
What is deleted
- Your membership card: the random club id our server gave you, and the locked-away codes that let your phone and your spare key in.
- Your club: its name, colours, badge and ground.
- Its players, its saved team, its starting call and its notes.
- Its transfer windows and scout lists, its club money and every entry of it, its online coins and every entry of them, and the looks it owns and wears.
- Its place on the ladder: division, step, today's ranked matches, and the clubs you asked never to meet.
- Its history page: seasons, honours, records and legends.
- Its "While you were away" list.
- The reports you made about other clubs, and any reports about your club.
- On the phone you delete from, your membership card and your reminders choice. Any Footymate reminders waiting on it are cancelled.
What stays, and why
- The matches you played stay. Each one is your rival's result as well as yours. From the moment you delete, the "While you were away" lists and Watch show your club as "a former club". What stays with a match is the random club id (which points at nothing once your account is gone), your club's name (made from invented parts, so it names nobody), your squad of invented players and the notes your club played with.
- The lines your club left in other clubs' histories stay. These are their "While you were away" lists, which read "a former club", and their record books, which keep your club's name (made from invented parts, so it names nobody).
- The head-to-head record between your club and each club it met stays (wins, draws, losses and when you last played), kept under your club's random id, which points at nothing once your account is gone.
- If your club was the first to reach a division, the Founders' board keeps that a former club got there first.
- Purchases. Apple or Google keep their own record of what you bought. Our server keeps a note of each purchase it has used, so a one-off purchase can never pay its coins twice. That note is how Restore purchases moves a purchase to a new club.
How long we keep things
- Everything listed under "What is deleted" goes as soon as you delete. It no longer exists anywhere you or anyone else can reach.
- Our database keeps its own backups for up to 30 days, then they're gone for good.
- Our server's logs, which can include your phone's internet address, are kept for 30 days.
